Privacy notice

Home Caddie is operated by Ex Military Mentor Ltd, registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number ZC224787. Ex Military Mentor Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. We have built Home Caddie to work without knowing who you are.

What we do not collect

• Your name or email address. There are no accounts and no sign-up.
• Your IP address. We do not store it.
• A device fingerprint, or anything else designed to recognise your device.

Our hosting provider has to process your IP address to deliver the site to you, as every website host does. We do not keep it or use it to identify you.

What we collect

When you use Build My Setup, we store your answers to the five questions (where you practise, what you want to improve, your biggest problem, how much space you have and your budget band), the setup we recommended, the page you started from, any campaign tags in the link you followed, and the country you are browsing from. We take the country from the network, at country level only. These are stored against a random reference number, which is also the address of your results page. The reference means nothing outside our database.

When you click through to a retailer, we record which product and retailer, where the link was on the page, which page you were on, your budget band, practice location and main problem, and your country. This tells us which recommendations are useful. It does not identify you, and it works whether or not you accept analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

• Build My Setup answers and results: 90 days. They are then deleted automatically, and your results page stops working.
• Retailer click records: 24 months, after which we keep only monthly totals that cannot be linked to any visit. When your answers are deleted, any click records lose their link to them.
• Google Analytics data: 14 months.

Who else handles it

Our hosting and database providers store this information on our behalf. Google processes analytics data only if you accept analytics cookies. When you follow a link to a retailer, that retailer's own privacy policy applies on their site.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we do not collect anything that identifies you, we will usually be unable to find information that relates to you specifically. If you keep your results page address, we can find and delete that result. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
